I normally use a 12 gauge, with #6 or #7 1/2 shot.

Seems to work fine for me.

Pheasants will come up slow at first, but if you let them get plained out they can move on.

Chukar are a little faster getting off the ground.

And obviously, the Quail will scatter fast.

Yes. We will have extra birds for sure.

Just depends on how we break it up (#Pheasants vs #Chukar vs #Quail) how many extra birds we'll have.

Just for example we could say that we wanted 50% Pheasant, 30% Chukar, and 20% Quail.....or any combination we wanted for that matter. He(Richard) would then determine how many extra birds that equated out too considering the number of hunters and the amount spent. Make sense?

I'd like to get an up to date total after the holidays, and then another one as we get closer to the date. Then, we'll know if we need the whole day, and we will be able to see who all can hunt the morning and who will need the afternoon hunt. Unless I'm mistaken, the morning hunts start at 8:00 am (CST) and the afternoon hunts start at 1:00 pm (CST). That should give both parties 3 or more hours to eat, socialize, etc.

Sounds good. Maybe Ruger can update your first post of the thread later on with the list of members confirmed for the hunt.
Similar to how he does it for the golf tournament, it works pretty well.

Just a thought.....

I may be interested in this. My grandfather mainly hunted pheasants and Rabbits in PA and talked about all the time, which is a big reason I hunt today.

I will be itching to get in the woods/field for sure by then.

Put me down for either weekend. WGK and I can ride together.
