I've narrowed it down between a Savage 270 and Remington 308 win..
Any advice? Savage has bushnell optics 4x32 accu trigger.

Apple and orange.
Each has advantages and disadvantages.
.270 Shoots lighter bullets faster and flatter. Ammo choices and, if you reload, bullet choices are pretty limited.
.308 Doesn't shoot as flat, but the heavy bullets can be more accurate at long range. Ammo choices almost infinite as well as bullets if you reload.

savage customer service has not impressed me the only issue i had was a weak magazine spring and it was several months before i got the rifle back (warranty) if you go with remington the triggers are easy to adjust and are as good as the accutriggers but stay away from the model 710 725 and 770

I'd split the difference and get a savage in 308. Stay away from the axis/edge rifles as the triggers are generally stiff. 270 isn't a bad choice tho. Neither is a Remington 700

What Mauser said. Just my thoughts, for hunting game around here the 270 will have less guess work out to 400 yds but past that the bullet choices in 30 Cal will provide better accuracy.
Before we pick brands what models are they?

Grew up hunting with my grandfather's 308 but already had a 30-caliber (30-06) so my most recent purchase was a 270. Haven't got to dial her in yet though. Either will do the trick.

Very much a personal opinion as both are great rounds that many many people shoot.
I had a 270 for years and sold it for a 308. Personally I liked the short action and bigger bullet as well as lighter recoil.

They replaced the barrel of my 204 with no problem.

I would take the 308 over 270. In Savage

270 it faster and flatter shooting, I don't like savage rifles so I'd get a Remington 700 in 270

Dealer's choice. Either caliber is good for most things. My preference is 308, although I've killed many a deer with 270 just as dead.
I've always shot a Remington and no troubles here. However, I hear the Savage Accutrigger is pretty slick.
