Unfortunately, this is probably a sound business decision based on the prospect that they will have more regulation and bans on their products. If they are selling the companies, that means that someone is buying them. There will probably be changes, but no one is going to buy a company to just shut it down.

Cerberus is selling based on pressure from their investors. Many of them are funds for teachers' retirement accounts. They have pressured Cerberus to break their ties with FGI, but there is no buyer at this point. I wouldn't call this purely a financial decision. AR-type rifles are only a small part of the FGI portfolio. I do not think there will be major changes due to a new owner.

Sorry but just because someone is selling something it does not mean anybody is buying. They have to sell it first. If they cannot find any buyers then they close down. So far nobody has come forward to try to buy any of the companies.

They're in it strictly for the moo-la, not guns. Very wise financial decision in my opinion. Especially seeing as though other gun companies share prices fell 10% on average. If they handled my retirement, I'd want them to off load it too.
