I posted a few pics from some of the awesome meals I had in Sayulita, but a friend who came down happens to be a BBQ blogger and posted this excellent trip summary:

Tornados of pork tenderloin on every street corner, stewed goat so tender and juicy that it melts in your mouth, marlin taken straight from the beach to a griddle before landing on your taco, handmade pasta like you were in Italy but a fraction of the cost, a plate of beef short rib and a plate of beef tenderloin for less than $10, onion and cilantro cut fresh from the yard/garden of the place you are eating, and a guy that starts frying up Churros for 2 pesos each about 10 pm each night, and you would starve?? Do tell.

just dont like mexican food. the fresh fish fine. the alpo over corn chips, churns my stomach. and as an italian, i would prefer they leave the pasta to the pros. not keen on goat either

That's not Mexican. That's Americanized Tex-Mex garbage.

If the restaurant where you're dining has a "Speedy Gonzales" anywhere on the menu, turn around and leave.

If you ever see the words "al pastor" on the menu, pull up a chair, order a horchata, and prepare to enjoy some real Mexican food.

American's can't handle the bacteria levels of their water. If you grew up drinking it, or just started drinking it despite getting dysentery, you would eventually develop resistance to it. At least it's not pumped full of chlorine and flouride....

The Amazing food part is open for debate.

Redblood, you're killing me........

MEXICAN food is absolutely nothing like the "Mexican" food you're comparing it to. Tacos "al pastor" will set you free.
