Feds look other way as wind farms kill birds -- but haul oil and gas firms to court
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/12/17/us-wind-farms-under-fire-for-bird-kills/
The disconnect demonstrates what critics call a blatant double standard that has to change. While the federal government aggressively pursues oil and gas companies for wildlife deaths, it often gives wind producers a pass.
Proponents say going soft on the wind industry allows it to compete. But environmentalists say, in this instance, it’s unacceptable. . . . . . . . . “How does an industry kill more than 2,000 eagles and not be fined once?” Johns said. “It’s a head scratcher.” . . . . . . . . Critics say it’s time for the (wind) industry to stand on its own or call it quits -- having benefited not only from the production tax credit but a de facto grant of immunity from federal prosecution under some of the country’s oldest wildlife laws.
The backlash against the wind industry is spreading to issues across other parts of the country.
In October, 60 residents of Hermiker County in upstate New York sued the owners and developers of a 37-turbine wind farm. They claim the turbines are bigger and noisier than developers had promised and say the farm is decreasing property values in the area and causing health problems.
Noise from the property has at times clocked in above 72 decibels, 22 decibels more than local law allows.

And, in other news . . . . . .
Obama Makes Good on Promise to Bankrupt the Coal Industry
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/...e-Coal-Industry
. . . . . . . the "cost of compliance" with Obama-era regulations is simply too high, thus coal-fired plant owners find themselves right where Obama said they would were he elected.
How's that for "hope and change"?

My next door neighbor that works in the limestone quary by KY Lake told me that they are laying off 75% of the work force in Jan. They use the limestone to mix with coal to make "clean coal" and that has suit down from lack of orders.

We all know this nonsense under the current regime, it'll continue with little backlash and more applause.
I'm disappointed with the republican establishment who has been unwilling and unable to voice a stronger, more abrasive argument to combat it. Romney....Boehner? Good grief, no wonder Barry can do what he wants and get away with it......

Got to keep in mind that during Obama's 1st 2 years, the democrats had total control of everything, i.e. congress, senate, and the executive branch (Obama administration). Wasn't much anything republicans could do, and still isn't. Republicans only have a majority in congress, not the senate, and not the Obama administration.
I think Romney could have done great things for the economy and our energy policy, but he never had that opportunity, as the voters chose Obama's charisma over Romney's substance.
