Hey guys I'm looking to get a new bow and was mainly curious about the competition scene here in Middle Tennessee. In addition to hunting I would like to compete in some shoots to get better and for fun. Are there many competitions around here. Also what is the best shop around me, I'm close to Murfreesboro

There is a shop in Murfreesboro as well. I think it out by the hospital. Murfreesboro Outdoors I think is the name of it. Try them. There is a post on here about the Old Hickory Bowmen, they are an archery club in Hermitage. There use to be a club in Rockvale, but I don't think they are there anymore. Try the shop in Murfreesboro they can probably tell you about any competitions in the area. Pine Creek Archery is in Hendersonville and have a website. Try a Google search.

Welcome to the site and the archery forum. I'll keep my opinions to myself as far as archery shops around here. However, there are numerous shoots around Mid Tn and most clubs work with each other in scheduling so that clubs don't shoot on the same date—Spring through late summer there is a shoot somewhere almost every weekend within a 30-45 minute drive from Nashville. There is Old Hickory Lake Bowman's Club (the nicest club and shoot around, and yes I'm biased  ) http://myplace.frontier.com/~jrich1578/ , there is Pine Creek http://www.pinecreekarchery.com/index.html , Cheatem WMA archery, Necedah Bowhunters in Lavergne http://www.necedahbowhunters.com/ , Frog's Timberland Archery, Montgomery County Bowhunters in Clarksville and there are several more that I can't think of right now.
