A few of them pointy rocks that is. I have a small field that just got plowed two weeks ago and although it hasnt gotten enough rain on it, it has had just enough to expose a couple of brokes. I cant wait till a good heavy turd floater!!!

 Click on ^^^ for video.

I believe so ITDH, this particular field has been a good one for little flake points. Jacks reef and also alot of Fort Ancient points as well as Motleys and a few Adenas. I found a broken lost lake there 2 years ago as well, So it must have been occupied for several thousand years since Ive found Archaic through Mississippian.

There are several variations of Pinetree points, thus, I concur.

I'll not argue either, and like you I have found thousands myself. That point in the video looks more pickwick to me, remember, humans made these, not all knappers were equally skilled and not all lithic materials were equally workable. Without holding the actual point and seeing the actual flaking. The one in the photo to me screams pinetree just from what is exposed you can see the knotches are not as deep and prominent as a jacks reef and the base is appears more broad. Pinetrees can have concaved, convex, straight, bifurcated or articulated bases. My question would be, does it have early archaic style flaking? And is the base ground?

Reading these posts and looking at all this stuff has gotten me fired up. The last time I seriously looked was in 1979. I think its time to get back in the game. I was told it is not legal to walk the Tn. River bank any longer. Is this true?
