Got some elk sirloins from a friend. This is my first time cooking elk steaks. Came out pretty tasty.

Marinated in red wine and a bit of worcestershire. Seasoned with salt and pepper. Yum Yum.

they look great. but how do they taste. gamey? did you soak them in milk or salt water/vinegar to get the blood out. they look amazing

Not Gamey at all. You could taste the flavor of the meat, and it tasted good.

It looked like beef before cooking, but darker and richer red. Like grass-fed beef.

Elk steak is the BEST wild game meat I've ever eaten, hands down. Unbelievably tasty with a hint of sweetness. I've always said that if I could buy elk at the market, there's a good chance I'd choose it over beef.
