I used to make them, I used a 50 cal maxi ball mold and 99% pure xray lead.. you can use the old lead type wheel weighs, I havent tried any of the newer zinc wheel weights I doubt they would make a good boolit.. its not hard a tall to make them, I had a lee production pot i melted the lead in.. the worst part is the fumes.. very dangerous.. should be done outdoors

I do. Probably have a ton of sheet lead that I lucked out on several years ago.
I have mostly Lyman molds, some Lees and RCBS, and a custom Hoch. I'm using a Lyman mag 20 electric pot. I mostly cast round balls, minie balls and cast bullets for black powder cartridge rifles.

I use Lee moulds. As far as the lead, I target shoot into a cutoff piece of a cross tie. Whenever I run low on balls, I'll split it up and dig out the lead.

My main 3 bullets i cast, along with 50 and 54cal round balls. Very easy to cast, I spent $40 on a lee lead melter and I was set. For muzzleloaders, ALWAYS use pure soft lead,
