I'd be at old hickory and we can organize a date and time when they actually close the tailwaters

We need to stop and think of what is the BEST way to get our point across. I wouldn't be looking to TWRA for support considering they work hand in hand with the corp on WMA land. What are our options? Just writing to Alexander? Some sort of petition? A protest? What you guys think?
I personally don't see a boat protest crossing the buoy-line being very effective, unless your ultimate goal is to be arrested.

Using a pen and paper and writing an intelligent letter to your congressmen will get alot more accomplished than some redneck boat rodeo.

Buzz, you have to admit though, a redneck boat rodeo sounds like a pretty good time.

Lamar Alexander has spoken out. Believe it or not, TWRA has spoken out as well. TWRA probably anticipates less revenue from license sales therefore they decided to speak up.
I'm willing to beat that the family of one drowning victim sued the dog crap out of the Corps. This whole shenanigan by the Corps is only to appease the lawyers. That's what drives a lot of decisions unfortunately.

Regardless....
Our government is no longer afraid of the people. As they should be.
I am not advocating breaking the law or acting stupid.
Citizens need to stand up and be heard. An example needs to be made for government bureaucrats to be aware of.
Perhaps if 100 fishermen trailer their boats to the CORPS. headquarters and clog up the parking lot so nobody can leave, then go inside and politely ask for a meeting with Mr.DeLapp AND HIS BOSS..... Nobody do anything stupid....this isn't a Union rally or anything. Just a bunch of VERY concerned citizens making a point that we don't like having our freedoms messed with.
Our government knows most people are too busy trying to get by after having half their income bled by taxes. Most of us don't have the time or energy to hold them to account. After all, the next election is a couple years away..... So they poop on us and laugh about it, knowing they will get away with it.
