Exclusively for deer...if you could plant only sawtooth oak or dunstan chestnut...which would you plant and why?

I would say chestnuts since they are more preferred by deer and usually produce mast every year.

Sawtooths because of affordability alone,you can buy 100 bare roots for $80 and spaced properly would have an awesome grove.For $80 youd get about 3 Dunstans.
