Cape? I need one to mount the eleven pointer I lost. So my question is it legal to purchase a cape from someone? Like if I post it on tndeer classifieds?

Yes. The only things on w. deer that aren't legal to buy, barter, or sell are antlers in velvet and the meat.

If I shoot a deer I would give you a cape I would think anyone would. If it cost extra for the guys that process there stuff they may make you pay that. Or check your processing place. Some Ideas

Just curious why not antlers in velvet? Just wondering why in velvet makes a difference.

Under our current season structure, it is very rare to have a deer killed with antlers in velvet. In the rare cases where it happens it usually involves testicular damage to the buck.

However, there is a very large black market for these antlers for the oriental medicinal market. Making them illegal to sell cuts down on the illegal preseason take of deer with velvet antlers.
