Also,very low acorn production this year.There are many crop fields easily within the deers reach,but they have long been harvested.

Just acorns and briars (along with other random things). My dad watched a deer last weekend stand in the same spot eating briars for over 1 1/2 hours and didn't move more than 3 feet

Deer nibble on anthing they can reach, including the end-buds of every little sapling and wild grape vine they walk past.
If there really is "no shortage of deer," that particular property is not "supporting" the density present. They must be feeding in other areas, as the area pictured won't support more than about a dozen deer per square mile.

Like you said - the food must be there if there are that many deer. And they will find it...their lives depend on it
Deer could easily be accessing food off of a 700 acre property. Most have ranges larger than that.

No doubt,from the last low light pic,walk 1000 yards to corn and beans,but have been picked for months,who knows what else they could be getting to eat,I cant scout others propertys,just barren looking on the lease,and some neighboring propertys I can see from the line off the 4 whheeler,especially in the winter.
