Chinese chestnuts are much cheaper and deer love them. I've got both planted. Aren't these also the ones that produce mast every year regardless?

Cherry barks grow fast shumard have good mast whites are slow growers. We planted about 65k 7 years ago and the cherry barks are twice the size of the whites walnuts and shumards We planted bald cypress in the low areas and ive been very surprised by their growth with our rainfall average being around 20"'s below normal this year here in hardin co.
