I was just thinking about this the other day and wondered how many of you felt the same and/or have had similar experiences. I find that I am generally much more successful when I hunt alone versus when I hunt with others (I'm equating success with killing here). I would say I definitely enjoy hunting with others more than I do hunting alone because of the comradery, family time, etc and getting to share the experience with someone. What about you? Does that even make sense? I was just thinking back on some of my more successful ventures and they generally occur when I'm by myself and it got me to thinking.

I'm with you 100%. I hunt with my cousin sometimes and we grew up hunting together, but now only see each other during bow season at the hunting grounds. Now everytime we meet up in the morning we waffle on whether to hunt together or split up, knowing our success rate is exponentially better split up but exponentially more enjoyable when we are successful hunting together.

if i am out to kill id rather be alone but since i have grown to enjoy "hunting" i much rather be with family or friends . no buck of any size can replace that . imo

Definitely with others I have more success. With having access to a large amount of land, I have better success when there are more hunters making the woods more active.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Plus, if you're like me, a hunting partner can sometimes make you second guess yourself. They don't mean to, but his hunting experiences have made him lean this way and your's makes you lean this way.

Since the kid discovered girls years ago, 90% of my hunting is by myself. Only stands to reason that most of my success is solo.

I spent this year alone and it was my first ever that way. I prefer a group of family and/or close friends.
In Wisconsin deer hunting runs deep in family traditions. Not that I like the idea or have been in one since I was a teenager, deer drives are still huge up there. Then there is the trading stories at the fire/stove. I miss that, not that I need or even want that much "bonding" anymore. But I'd love to come out of the woods and share infomation, help each other place and hang stands, dragging deer out together with people I spent the season talking about hunting with all off season. I'd love to find that again.
