Informant, If I am not wrong my old Browning A5 has something on it about Portugal and those old Brownings were made by FN so that kind of lines up.

I sorta hate to see this kinda thing too, but why are you mad at them?
I own a business. The .gov changes the rules every time I turn around. If I want to stay in business, I figure out a way to compete.
If not, I sell/move.

I'm just saddened that an American Icon is being assembled overseas. Soon, the whole company will be overseas.

I cannot stand Remington 700 rifles and will never own one unless it is inherited. As much as I hate to say it, if the same thing happened to the Remington 700 I would be saddened to the same degree. I hate to see American jobs being shipped overseas. This country is hurting for jobs. If we keep sending our manufacturing jobs overseas for assembly or production, we will be a 3rd world nation within 2 generations. I fear for the livlihood of Americans and the future of the American workforce. All of this government bureaucracy and encroachment on American businesses is destroying this country. When do we and how do we, the working class of America, say enough is enough. Elections are not the answer as they are now rigged littered with fraud. We are losing this country each and every day and yet we do nothing about it. We are the frogs in the kettle of water over a fire. The water is getting hot. When are we going to wake up and jump out of the kettle.

Sorry for the rant, but I just can't stand to see American's lose jobs and see my kids future being destroyed right before my eyes.

You're right, but I'm not sure how far back the Portugal thing goes. The older A5's had "FN" on the butt plate.

Model70Man,
Why the distaste toward 700s?

Don't you all realize that the Winchesters you own today have just INCREASED in vaule???

All PRE-Portugal Winchesters will go up in price just like the pre-64 models did. You can buy a retail brand new Winchester today and it will be worth more in just a couple years if not next year.
