I just got in a Scott Longhorn III hinge release. I love this thing. I've been shooting a Scott Longhorn Hex which is basically a hinge with a wrist strap.
I got the travel set up perfect on this new Longhorn and each release is a crisp surprise release.
Anyone else have a Scott Longhorn hinge?

I shot that exact release today. I happened to be in a bow shop and dude said "hey you're just in time...the PSE rep is coming by with the 2013s and will be here any minute". So I stuck around and saw those and shot them...and that's the release the shop guy had to shoot.
He had that stupid clicker enabled on it though and I'd about jump out of my skin every time it would go CLICK. Hahah.

Yeah I use the clicker. I have the travel set to where it clicks right when I anchor. The Longhorn Hex has the clicker as well. I got used to it after a couple sessions.
I like the clicker cause if it clicks too soon I know to let down and draw again.

Best thing you can do for form.
I started with a longhorn and loved it. Didn't use a clicker, but honestly probably better to use one. I shoot it a few times a year to solidify form. Don't shoot tournents but do shoot a handheld (chocolate lite) for hunting. Love Having my hands free when hunting.

First time I shot a clicker was at the ata show one year. It was a brass truball. I came unglued!

I've heard from several to truly master back tension one must commit to the hinge and use it properly.
I can use back tension with my trigger, but I start to punch the darn thing.

The bad part though is that you can punch/command a hinge style release as well. You'll learn how to...trust me. That's why they say back tension is a method.

I set my pretty cold so if I don't pay attention to form I have to let down and start over.
I dont know how to cheat with it and don't want to learn lol!

I like the clicker myself, but my hinge releases are from Zenith.
Crow is right, when I shot tournaments in wind (especially FITA) I could dump that hinge on command
