Who can afford to bait with the price of corn? I am guessing you knew how this would turn out.

if it was legal in tn it would probably drive up gas prices anyway. i think it should be illegal to hunt within 250 yards of any corn or soybean field or food plot. kind of even it out for those that do not have a tractor and CORN fields to hunt over, its the same thing. see how many would like to see the laws changed then.

No difference in baiting or food plots or a corn field all means are directed to one goal. White is white and black is black, the work involved has nothing to do with it geez some people just don't have a clue.

Baiting was allowed in Florida when I lived there. Never really saw a benefit from it. Once the acrons started falling the deer would ignore the corn piles. Then by the time they came back around to the corn I'm the winter they seemed to only hit it at night. Turkeys and squirrels loves it.

Well, I see all these members posting that they have killed 11, 14, 15 or so deer......Is that not enough? Not picking on the middle or west Tn. guys and gals on here but, ya'll need to come and hunt East Tn. for a few years! Then some of you would be happy with the number of deer you are seeing and/or harvesting (and don't start on the harvesting/killing thing again)! If you are for baiting why not deer farming? Ask yourself that question!

I'm not against baiting but I also don't know if I want to see corn piles pop up everywhere while I'm trying to hunt the traditional TN way of hunting and feel like I have to buy bags of corn (getting more expensive) just to keep up and have a chance at seeing deer. I know it's legal in places like KY but for those who are from baiting legal states, how many people use it vs those who don't, and are there problems for non baiters hunting on land adjacent to those who hunt over bait?

Here is how I see it coming from a bait legal state (NC). I grew up hunting over it, and still have a few places where we may throw out a bag of corn. ITS NOT THAT BIG OF AN ISSUE AS FAR AS ACTUALLY SEEING OR KILLING DEER! I have a lease where the area is hunted hard all around and I know for a fact their is at least 3 cornpiles on adjacent properties. We see and kill more and bigger deer than the other places since we stopped putting corn out about 2 years ago. Early season, before acorns fall, corn can be successful. Does and yes, even big bucks can be killed. But this time of year, unless you hunt at 2-3am, you will not be seeing deer unless you count buttonheads.

Its not the "end all" everyone thinks it is. I have no problem with it, but late season I think you can be more successful hunting as far away from it as you can. Deer are'nt stupid, they know exactly what it is and will avoid them like the plague in daylight hours. I promise you, it will not effect your deer hunting like most would lead you to believe.

It's not that big of a deal until your neighbor put bait out around a small piece of property you have permission to hunt and makes it illegal for you to hunt there. Its already legal to bait so just make it legal to hunt over. I just dont see the big deal

it is pretty simple

if it is illegal don't do it

if it becomes legal .....

if you want to do it do it if you dont like it dont do

dont worry what other folks do on their land

there will be no baiting on public land im sure if it is in legal in tn

there ther same thing either or they both make you see more deer i personally think it should be legal to bait becouse in a food plot there is material that attracts the deer, which is the same thing corn does, food plots are just legal... but if you think about they pretty much are the same thing
