Sounds like a video card/driver problem. What O/S are you running? Windows XP?

Yea i would say video card. Depending on what you do with computer it won't be do bad on price. If you play games like I do then a couple hundred dollars

Go to Control Panel-----Display-----Screen Saver----then click on the Power button. See if it's set on some power management setting and change it to Always On and see if that fixes the problem.

Still have the problem after the change?
yep still doing the same when the computer comes on monitor powers up for about 10 seconds then power just shuts of to monitor, sometimes you can unplug the monitor and plug it in and it comes on. if computer is booted up it will stay on till cumpuer is shut down.

Wierd...

You may want to go to Bleeping Computer.com and see if you can dig through the forums and find out if it's a common problem. If not you can register on the forum and start a topic and will get some good advise.

I had a nasty virus last year and nothing could get rid of it until I went to that site and registered. Had some help from one of their users in a couple of days and got rid of the virus...great site.
