As far as the Polk Co. bear;
I was fly fishing up at Hiwassee River many years ago, had waded up a side creek when the water was down, and had one that was absolutely massive, MASSIVE run across the creek about 30 yards from me.
Thought I was gonna have to scrape out my waders.

The gooberhead in the pick has been my best friend since high school. He got most of the pics with the bear but he's not the one that shot it. It was a co-worker of ours. 4 guys come in from top and bottom and sides to cut it off while dogs were on it and he stepped around a huge rock to see if he cud see it cause the dogs were gettin close and there it was 15ft away. He put one in its neck before it tore him up. To get the max out of the scales they drug it back UNGUTTED. It actually weighed 519lbs. He hopes the drag didnt crack the skull to have it scored.

I went on a dog hunt in cocke county years ago. Awesome sound to listen to the dogs. On the last day I was there, a different group of hunters took a bear that went almost 600 lbs. runnin those hills is more than I can handle.
