I finally took a couple of pictures of the jawbones from the bucks I killed on Thanksgiving morning and the following Friday. I'm still working on my aging by tooth wear patterns, so I would appreciate opinions from the knowledge base here!
Buck 1:

Buck 2:

My estimates are Buck 1 being 3.5, and Buck 2 probably being 3.5 also but might be 2.5

Buck 1 could be 4.5, but I'm having a hard time telling. teeth are more blunt but not as much dentine showing as I thought a 4.5 would have, but I could be wrong on the dentine.

buck 2 looks 3.5 to me

Yeah, I am a little torn about Buck 1. Physical characteristics (neck size and depth of chest) made me think that he might have been 4.5, but I thought there should be more dentine showing on his back molars as well. He might be a "tweener" - an early born 4.5 or a late born 3.5.

For Buck 2, by dentine I was thinking 3.5 but the molar cusps are still pretty sharp. Body configuration also suggested 3.5.

Antler-wise, neither one is exceptional but both are pretty typical for my area.

BSK, that cannot be right! Everyone knows that if a buck is mature (4.5 +), he has to have at least 130" of bone on his head, not the about 100" that Buck 1 above has! Remember, according to many on TNDeer all we have to do is stop shooting all the young bucks so every mature deer will be 130" or bigger! \:\)

I thought you could only take one buck per day? Am I wrong or missing a stipulation?
