dbllunger, do you think some of the fish never leave or they leave and come back? Where I fish I can't buy one by September but I've heard people say there are some there year round even though I have never seen or caught one past September...

Catchdawg, I don't think they ever leave. At least some of them anyway. I have buddies that don't hunt that were catching them there a month ago. My friend that taught me said he thinks they are there year round as well. He just doesn't fish for them as he spends his winters in south florida and doesn't return till late april.
Mudbone, when I bought that boat last spring it already had the wood floor. It appears to be some type of softwood but Im not really sure. I just know I love it. It is very quiet and doesn't soak up the water and get heavy and the traction is great. It is put in place with wood screws to the struts?? that run across the bottom and up the sides as well. They put a lot of time and effort into doing it really well.

I'd like to give it a try but rockfishing is a pretty wet affair for me, my boat can't get where I catch them. I'll have to wait till May...
