You know, I really don't need these depressing statistics crammed down my throat everytime I get on the interstate.
Wonder how many people have died reading about the total number of people that have died?
Who honestly believes this "scare tactic" will reduce Tennessee hiway fatalities?
By the way, we just passed last years totals. Guess they don't work as intended.

I think its supposed to make you think. I for one am all about awareness.
I would say many more people have died from texting while driving then reading the total's displayed on the signs designed to be read while driving..

I see your point, but still think it's in poor taste and depressing.

I agree I hate reading those statistics everyday. Nothing like driving into work in a monday looking forward to a good productive day at work and then seeing... O look 24 more people died over the weekend

How many in the world have died from their own Government?
100 Million in the last century alone.
Last thing we need is government telling us what kills.

You know, I really don't need these depressing statistics crammed down my throat everytime I get on the interstate. So don't get on the interstate.
Actually, its hard to tell if it brings awareness or has any effect. So many factors go into the number of fatalities. I don't mind the postings myself.

Yeah, they need to upgrade them to LCD signs and play music videos. No need to tell me how many people die on the road, I see that on the news every evening. And if it's not road fatalities, it's click it or ticket, something about drunk driving, or they tell you to carpool because of emissions.

IMO, the first time I saw it I was kinda shocked at the amount of people. I had no clue over 900 people died every year in Tennessee in car wrecks. It was informative the first time I saw it. The next sign needs to show what percentage was DUI Vs Careless Driving.
