BTW, I had the same feeling when "doe week" was in last. I had seen so many does during bow season that I was SURE I was going to get some meat.
Well, here we are. December. I am deer-less after seeing the most deer ever from a tree stand in one season. I've either passed on them or could not get a good shot.
Here's hoping this up and coming doe week will be shooting deer in a barrel.

Good read, particularly this very true passage:
In Unit L, hunters are allowed to take up to three deer per day (no more than one buck).
Such a liberal limit leads one to think that hunting a Unit L county would be akin to shooting fish in a barrel. There is only one problem—deer aren't fish, and it is a very big barrel.
I don't care where you go, deer are deer. That means they have keen senses of sight and smell, coupled with an uncanny ability to evade the presence of humans.
