I dont know what it is, every year i spend tons of money and time on deer hunting. Between gas liscense in 2 to 3 states guns ammo processing did i say GUNS!! Im burnt out on it. Ive killed 3 deer so far and want to keep at it but the last 2 or 3 times ive gone out i just havent enjoyd it. I cant help but wanna go get my 22 and hunt squirels. Im really tempted to lock the 7-08 up and start hunting small game. I dont know whats wrong with me. Any of yall haveing the same feelings? Or am i alone. I need some deer hunters counseling

i felt like that last few years. but this year i just spent 110.00 on a used muzzle loader and thats all i spent this year.
i just said i needed to cut back on the spending and that's what i did. I go deer hunting just to get out in the woods and sometimes watch everything that goes on.
But when the time comes then i'll take the shot at the a buck that walks out LOL.

there's nothing wrong with small game hunting. Deer hunting isn't "better". I think that, if the rut is going full-bore in your area and you are wanting a chance at a good buck, then stick with it for a few days.
Aside from that...small game hunting is on the decline more than anything, and the animal populations sure aren't hurting. Great time to enjoy it! Everyone wants to wait until deer season is done, but the squirrel hunting is nowhere near as good then as it is now (especially for the past month).
Hunt the way you want, and be thankful of that freedom.

Take a kid hunting. You'll be pleased at how much fun hunting can be when you're looking at it thru a youngster's eyes!

If you wanna go squirrel hunting, by all means go. These temps and lack of deer movement can be depressing and tough on the body. Maybe you just need a break to get your mind right. If I didnt want to go, I wouldnt.
Morning hunts wear me out, it ruins my whole day. 90% of the time, I hunt the afternoons and enjoy it a great deal more. A weekend of rest can do the body good..
