I got 2 acres of turnips , deer was using it back in bow season , I was told they would hammer them after the first frost , I haven't found that to be true . Looks like they have totally abandon them now , back to wheat , oats and grain rye next year .
In lawrence county and wayne we see it late........even after the season in January. i have a field now that is virtually untouched. and "hard frosts" is more like it. the brassicas in the blend need that it seems to turn them to sugar if you are planting a mix. When you walk out on them and they smell like rotting cabbage.........it will be right for them.

My turnips aren't being touched. Still waiting, but there's plenty of other stuff for them to eat, so no big deal.

The leafy parts of mine are just starting to be touched at home, but were wiped out totally by Late October on my Morgan Co. place.

I am new to planting food plots but I was thinking about planting some sugar beets next year. Is that a good idea? When do you plant those?
