Finally found a tax assessment map of the county I live in here in Alabama. Took me long enough. I know it's better to meet land owners face to face but honestly I don't have the time with teaching/coaching so I plan to send out a letter to as many land owners as possible seeing if I could hunt. If I get no responses that is fine, but if I just get one I'm happy...already got about 350 good acres to hunt now.
Any certain things I should include or not include? I have never tried this method as my family owns land that I hunt in TN.
Thanks guys!

Just introduce yourself, wouldn't hurt to mention that you're a teacher and coach. Tell them you're a long term avid hunter (veterans are better than rookies if you're a land owner) and that you are interested in possibly hunting their land. Tell them you would be willing to pay (if you're willing to pay) and/or tell them that you would be more than happy to help with land maintenance, etc. Give your contact information and tell them than you would love to meet them and talk in person about the idea at their convenience if they would be willing.

Yea, I am not willing to pay and I realize that will cut out chances with a lot of people but like I said the land I already have is prime hunting land. I just always like to have a few different spots to choose from.
However, I love working on the land that would not be an issue at all. And definitely would love to help them in anyway possible.
