I have a buddy here in Spring Hill who just spent several days in Vandy with symptoms similiar to Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They eventually decided it must be Erlichia, another tick-borne disease, and sent him home with hopes that he will slowly recover over the next couple weeks of diligent antibiotic treatment.
He was at the family cabin for Thanksgiving. Who knew that hunting would become more and more of a high-risk sport, even if your gun wasn't loaded?

Found one on the buck I killed Thursday but at some time, he had a bunch on him, hide was showed it.

Been bad all year here, it's nothing in spring/summer to get double digits on you in the high grass or woods
