Sitting here in the stand and watching an owl bout 20 yards off. Amazing how observant they are when looking for a snack. Awesome creatures, wish I could spin my head like that sometimes.

Absolutely love to watch them. Indians hate for them to be around. Had an Indian guide once who just flat decided we were going to change areas because there were too many owls around.

Were you hunting with a crow indian?

I had two great horned owls about 20 yards away this morning. they watched me shoot a deer.

I saw a few last year but not this year. There is a lot of great stuff in the woods to watch. Lot of people just want take time.

Did you ask him why? They don't seem to bother deer but any squirrel within a mile will run in terror and bark for hours.

In some tribes owls are considered a bad omen, especially when seen in the daylight.
