After the gun and scope, I would like to offer some ideas for consideration on what extra monies (if any) could be used for.

ammo
sling
case that can be used for both carry and storage
cleaning kit
lens cleaning pen
targets
knife

hunting clothes:
gloves
bibs or coveralls
boots
thermal base layers
coat
socks

I'm sure there is more. no coffee yet brain....

carry on,

Some good ideas..!

Slaughter - I have a spare Single hard case and a spare Double hard case.. Find out which one he prefers and it's his!
Also, maybe post up some sizes of hunting clothes etc...? (Boots too)
If everyone else here is like me, we have some xtra hunting stuff lying around and I'd like nothing more than to see this young man have it if he could use it!

As soon as the gun is a done deal, I will send the soft gun case to Ruger and a brief story in the paper. If someone else has already donated a soft case, just let me know.

What size boots does he wear? I got a new pair of waterproof insulated boots that need to be on somebody's feet.

Maybe buy him a Sportsman's/Hunter's Bible, similar to this...
