Score (green) 143 4/8. Thanks everyone for your score estimates. For those guessing low to mid 140's, great job! Those guessing mid to low 120's, I believe your not taking in account the mass, as MUP pointed out..."mass is the great equalizer". Thanks again to everyone and continued good luck for the rest of season. This is an Illinois buck by the way, I forgot who asked that in other post.

If he's 140's the pics don't do him justice!! I score 100's of bucks ranging from 100" to over 200" every year and would have though 130" according to the pics. Congrats a a fine buck!!

I agree the pic doesn't do him justice. I just took a quick pic to have it on my phone. It's hard to really grasp the mass with the picture. His right G2 was 13 inces the left was 12. You can go to Buck Chasers Facebook page to see better pics.

Awesome buck!!!! Scoring a deer with a picture sometimes is deceiving, can't see the 8th point so most would score it as 7pt with a missing brow tine.. And the position of the picture makes it hard to judge mass...

I really pay no attn to the "people" in the pics, just try to see the head and antlers and make my best guess. That is a dandy buck for sure.

How much did that deer weigh? Being that it is from Illinois it is probably a big bodied deer. If that rack was on a 170 lb Tennessee Whitetail I think many people would have guessed a little closer.

Good buck, great mass. But with that photo that deer is nowhere near as big as it looks. Dude is about 5 feet behind the deer. Congrats on a great buck.

His knee is up against his neck and he is holding the deer by the antlers with his arm across the head. I'll give him your congrats however.

I am throwing a flag on that score. Unless the pic just does no good at all. In which case, your friends arms are too short.
A seven point making 143...HOW?
Are those 16 inch G-2's and 28 inch main beams?
I would love to be educated on how that deer made 143 considering tine length is about 69 percent of overall score, and he only has seven points to measure.
Are we talking Pope and Young score or what scoring system?
Could you REALLY impress me and show me the numbers? I really want to learn.
BTW, who cares about the numbers anyway? It is a GREAT buck.
And even though MASS is the great equalizer, it only accounts for about 22 percent of the overall score.

MUP, I did not score this buck, Ben Layton scored it Officially, and my arm is short.
I do not care about numbers Rich, I only use them to put a deers rack into perspective for the people I am talking to.
It helps us all understand just what kind of eight, or seven, or 26 point buck we are talking about. And a seven point that makes 143 and change is truly a GIANT!
THe buck in Tomahawks pic is impressive without the numbers. But I use Tndeer as a tool often. ANd I truly hate mis-information, unless it is in fun.
Also, take off your panties if you think I am chops busting, good grief, it is Christmas. I really want to know how long the points are.

102,
I was there during scoring. I don't remember all exact numbers but here are some key ones: G2's 13 & 12.5 G3's 8 & 7.25 main beams 23 & 22.25 Bases just over 6 but can't remember exactly and honestly can't remember other mass measurement Spread 16.5 if I remember correctly. I've seen a couple other deer scored since this one so I may be off with remembering exact measurements but their close. You seem to imply I'm giving false information , I take exception to that. I'm about as straight forward as they come. I've no reason to give false information about someone else's deer. Also, some have stated "that is high score for a 7 pointer". There is a big difference between a 7 pointer missing a G3 and one missing a short brow tine. This deer had a sticker measuring 1 2/8 that counted as a point so 8 pointer is what he is. If he had the brow then he wouldve been a 9 pointer, would you feel better about the score then? Here is another picture I got sent to me, maybe it will help.

I don't think you're bustin' any chop at all 102 just that the guy in your picture is stretching out his arm as well as the guy in tomahawk's pic.

You are confusing a 7 pointer with a missing G3 with a 7 pointer missing a brow tine. This buck had a sticker that counted so once again we're back to this buck being an 8 pointer. If brow wasn't broken he would of been a 9 pointer. I'm over this topic, you believe whatever you want, doesn't change the facts.

Tomahawk, As we talked earlier, seems its always the same old thing. You"ve took a 160 net in Tn. as well as several in Illinois. You know what it takes to make 140. Congrats to you friend.
