He is our coach and I am willing to give him a chance. My only concern is he has not stayed at a job for more than 3 years since 1990. Is he an upgrade over Dooley? Maybe, that remains to be seen. He has a head start, he has a winning record and a couple conference championships. Players seem to like him so time will tell.

He's not going to win out of the gate. 3 of the first 6 in 2013 are probably losses, and would be no matter what the coach's name is.

You nay sayers will have an awakening i believe hes 50-27 thats good enough
Here's the problem. This is the SEC. You are competing against the likes of Nick Saban, LSU, Florida, etc. Not only do you have to be a great coach, you HAVE to be able to get these bigtime recruits flocking to your school. A team is not going to win with a good coach and 2-3 star talent. Just not going to happen. Butch Jones is a good coach, and may have some success, but I do not believe he will not be the answer to Florida, LSU and Alabama. Time will tell. I am not a naysayer, just giving my honest opinion at this point in time.

Don't know enough about him yet to say whether I like it or not. On the surface I would have preferred a bigger name. That said he may do just fine. Look at Vanderbilt and James Franklin. Who knew that would turn out this good for them. One thing for sure is he can win with Chip Kelly's players. He did it at Central Michigan and Cincinnati. I do have concerns about his ability to recruit in the south as he's never done it. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

My take is simple. He has a succesful coaching record going already, his recruiting and coaching seem capable. If he can get into the heads of his players and staff AND get control of them OFF them field he will do well. Needs to step in run a tight ship and set the bar high from the get go. I only hope he is given a true opportunity with real support!
