I didn't want to hijack the fellas thread in the serious forum about finding his buck a week later after the yotes got it. My question is if someone shoots a giant buck and finds it say 2 or 3 weeks later or even 2 months is it still accepted in the state registry? No I don't have one but was curious of the answer as you have to use a buck tag on it to keep it. Thanks

I would think so if it is legally checked in, but the administration of the deer registry would be under BGG and Chuck.

Not to hijack this thread but what if you shoot one near the end of season and find him a few weeks later after season is closed. Can you take the antlers or skull?

IMO, no.
so I guess you can just leave it and wait till the skull is clean, and hope the rodents don't get it, and pick it up during shed season?

Different breeds of deer. In some areas the deer shed just antlers, in other they shed their whole head... correct??? \:D

well most of my skulls are found while shed hunting and I just pick em up because why not, it's antler still on the skull, might make a good mount or something.

Ok I have a question. In unit L say someone has shot 2 bucks. Hits a third but can't find it after severl hours of looking. So he then shoots another buck then stumbles across the one he lost. Is he now at a possible risk of a fine for shooting four bucks? How does he handle it?
