I personally saw a nose hook in action down at White Oak Plantation on the juvy hunt I took my son on. Bowriter and the White Oak boys pulled out the nose hook stuck it in the deers nose and started pulling. Deer followed them all the way back to the truck.

It may not have been invented there but I have never seen one used anywhere else. We also make one with larger wood handles.
The bricks are used to add body weight when we weigh them. They also give the truck at least a little trcation on wet grass.
The orange harness hooks to my climbing harness so I pull with my upper torso and just lean into it. I cna frag some pretty big deer by myself. I guess this one weighed about 150 field dressed, maybe a tad more. He was some wicked heavy BGG.

I gut mine on the tail gate of my truck. It sure makes it easier than bending over while gutting, my back hurts all the time. The ropes are a good idea.

I like the hook. Browtines taught me how to push a sharp stick through their nose. Amazing how tough that nose is... makes for easy drag.

I don't drag guts. They are heavy and I see no reason to drag them when I can ;ighten the load by a considerable degree.
