I just bought a BPI New Frontier wind river magnum .50 cal. muzzle loader from a friend and i was just wondering if i paid to much for it.
I paid 110.00 for it with a 3x9x50 tasco scope the bore Looks dang good with no pitting or rust. I just got done cleaning it and greased it down where it will be stored for next season.
So lets hear it do you think i paid to much for it?

Oh i c i didn't know that. i hust used dish soap and hot water today to clean it.
It looked good but it looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a few months though. But it didn't have no pitting or rust anything in side the barrel just dirty.
I used dawn dish soap and the ram rod with the wire bore brush and went at it. then dried it real good and greased it down where it won't rust.

Thats the way to do it. Before loading, make sure you use an alcohol or windex patch to remove the grease from the bore.

Soap and water is the way to go. Potassium perchlorate left behind in the bore by pyrodex is water soluble and needs to be cleaned out as soon as possible after shooting your gun. I always follow with WD40 to displace moisture, wipe out, and then use your favorite rust preventative.

OK thats what i done today i put some WD40 then wiped it out and put a little film of white hi temp grease in it. So it will be ready for next year without rusting.
