Where can I find information pertaining to the sale of deer meat/parts in Tennessee? I know that much, if not all, of it is illegal to sale for human consumption/use, but what about for pets? I have seen frozen venison, antlers, and other products offered at local pet stores and would like to be educated on the legalities of this.

You will find the regulations in the Rules and Regulation under the Commercial Use of Wildlife. These regulation may be accessed from the TWRA website.

It is illegal to sell the meat of whitetail deer in TN for any purpose.

It doesn't matter if it is farm raised or wild if it is from whitetail deer. The sale of meat from any whitetails is illegal in TN.

Oh, really? I didn't know that farm raised venison was illegal for sale (or at least never thought about it) Hmm. So, as the original poster asked, Hollywood Feed , for example, which has multiple locations in Memphis, sales a selection of meats for dogs on raw diets, which includes venison and rabbit at about $20 a lbs. I never thought much about it (except that is is rather $$). Just to clarify 100%, the farm raised venison they are selling as dog food is in fact against the law in TN? Would there potentially be an exception if it were Elk meat?

I'm only asking because I know a manager at one of these stores and, if they are in fact breaking the law, I'll be sure to let him know.

If it is venison from whitetail deer it is illegal. Venison from fallow, sitka, etc. would be legal.
