Does it have to be a .308? I will donate a Savage Model 110 in .270 AND a 3x9x40 VX III Leupold scope, both well used but in good working order. Would have to get the proper mounting rings to put this scope on the Savage. Havent got around to that yet. I think I have a box or two of rounds for it too.

Unicam that is a more than generous offer, and I can't speak to the young man's wants or for slaughter but if my dad had used a .308 and I lost him; I would would want to hunt with the closest thing I could find to what my dad carried in the woods.

This doesn't have to be a one time thing, I say we make it somewhat of a tradition. As long as it's handled right we can help more than a few kids.

Just my 2 cents though.

I agree completely, was just offering up something I thought might be a possibility.

That scope would make a great addition to the combo (if you were willing to split it up)! What a generous offer!

I was told by his sister that he wanted to be a man of God when he grew up, I'm not sure what faith he is but he wanted to spread the word of God. She told me the other day since their dad's passing he has not mentioned anything else about that. maybe just maybe this will help get him back on track, and see just how much good is still left in this world!

Paypal donation sent...Just a FYI. Paypal no longer let's you send a Gift for free. The one I just sent was charged a 4.1% fee. It was just over $1 so it wasn't a problem. They changed this several months ago.

Curious...What is the total amount that has been received so far?

just an idea but i have seen some cool stuff done recently with people engraving bible verses in the stock of their gun. It is a very cool and beautiful sight to see. Shouldnt cost much to do if that is something that you think would be cool to add in.
