American Buffalo by Steven Rinella is a good read for anyone wanting to hunt buffalo.

I'd shoot one if given the chance, but mainly as a way of stocking the freezer, unless I was on some sort of hunt that felt more like an adventure (like some previous posters have described).

Otherwise, the excitement wouldn't be a whole lot different than hunting in a box blind looking over a food plot and picking out a doe for the freezer.

A free range buffalo (UT, AZ or AK) is anything BUT sitting in a ground blind.

Rinella's book was an excellent read. he took his buffalo in Alaska. Just the description ofpacking out the meat, while trying to keep ahead of bears, makes it worthwhile.

Now, there are game farms where you can go out and shoot the one the farmer points out and he will pick it up in his front end loader...

The last few deer I have shot were grazing in a field like a cow. I wouldnt call it a "hunt" either... they eat good. Isnt that what matters?

If it suits you fine then go for it. Didn't say anything was wrong with it. Just doesn't sound interesting to me. That said I have no problem shooting a deer grazing like a cow. ;\) \:\)
