FL been selling wine in stores for years.
Same for Texas. Don't know what all the hysteria is about.

I never heard Kroger complain when Walgreens started selling milk and bread. Let the grocery stores sell it- liquor stores will have to adapt.

All the stores are next to each other at the strip malls.
What does it solve to have someone walk through a different door to buy wine?
Short sighted, nanny govt solutions.
less doors, less cold and flu transmission.
If for no other reason, do it for your health!!! - LOL

This has an uphill battle though it is highly fought off by the lobiest for the alcohol and on top of that the states gets more money with having people have different lisc. They also have different laws that regulate the two. Like the real funny one if you buy beer at a groc store by law you must show your id even if you are 100 years old. If you are buying a bottle of whiskey at a package store you do not, it is up to the person selling to guess if you are over the age or ask to see your ID.
In SD we have everything in a grocery store. You have one lisc to sell off sale or if you have a bar you have a on sale or what you call by the drink lisc.
The big delema would be what the stores would take out to make room for the new product?
