Moved a flat screen from upstairs to down, carefully,,,, although we did lay it on its back on the bed for a short period.
Downstairs it will not come on, red light blinks. Checked plug and cord , they are both hot (current ) . Called Panasonic , after a long conversation with a Spanish dude and a couple checks, he said it needed to be serviced ! I have a hard time believing that, I know they are supposed to stand upright, but could have laying it on its back have caused the problem ? Anyone knowledgeable ?

Leave it unplugged, standing upright overnight - and then try -

again -

Not sure if it will help - but;

Do not lay it on its back - does something to the liquid in it - that is what a salesman told me.

The red light is flashing a code, count the number of blinks, then a 3 sec pause then the next number and so on.

If only one number code is present it will continue to repeat that number over and over.

Ex: 1 blink, pause, 3 blinks or 1 blink, pause, 1 blink.

Fdxx75 , thanks. Guys. For the suggestions. It has been upright for several days ( on the wall) .
FDxx75. It blinks 11 times. Then a pause then 11 times again , over and over , how do I know what the code means ?

go to Ask.com, ask your question, a TV repairman will shortly answer your question for a small fee, be sure before you pay the fee to ask where you can purchase the part and will they ship to you,

they will ask for Brand, Model Number, etc

I have only had good results from them, my fee last time was $17.00

I did a search and found a forum that said 11 blinks is a fan problem and it will shut the whole tv down until fixed.

You have carpet in the room where the TV used to be? When I ran my PC business in Memphis the amount of carpet fiber I would find in PC's, most doornail dead, was unreal, you could weave a glove. When you laid it down I bet the fiber managed to block the fan rotation. Just like PC fans, it'll have 3 wires, 3rd one reports RPM and no RPM, no power up. Be interesting to hear of your final results.
