if it gets any easier than this, well, I don't know how...
Where I deer hunt, the deer hunters normally change to duck hunters asap....this year is no exception. I got to go with them today and will again, maybe tomorrow and some more times this season. We had fun! There are few ducks in the area, but we did get some shooting and had an enjoyable time. I got a history lesson on the blind and the success it has seen. I was very impressed with it all..Belwo are some pics, I hope you enjoy...I did.
This is the back entrance where you park the wheelers. It is a concrete slab and will hold maybe three wheelers.....

the door to the right is the bathroom....

generators and gas bottles.....where you walk in to the main dining area ..lol.

Kitchen and dining area...all insulated with gas stove...and windows for your viewing pleasure...

this is the original shooting deck, there is another one beside this one , through the door....with both decks open, it shoots 11 people.....as you can see, leisure attire is optional...lol. The man to the right goes EVERY day, regardless ....he told me he shoots about two cases of shells per season...he told me that the main problem is that he normally doesn't have enough shooters and once he limits out daily, he just sits there and watches them...there has to be ducks in the Bottoms, mind you, but if the refuge is holding alot of ducks, this place gets crazy.

some outside views.....

Views from the deck....

this final view is out the back at another smaller blind setup for overflow and when the water gets out a great deal and the ducks start to work this side of the field...also, just a point of interest....the woods line past the blind is where the creek is that I wade to get to my deer stand....I park my wheeler at that blind now while the water is not up....I walk over, cross the creek and get in my stand,,,,,the shooting doesn't seem to bother the deer at all...
hope you enjoyed the show....

and one more...two nice geese we got this morning.., no ducks though...it was fun watching them work.....

Awesome!! Duck hunting has come a long way from when I used to do it in the 1980's. We didn't have gas stoves, heaters or any other luxuries.

Most of my early duck hunting was done standing in water by an oak tree...fun!!!!
they have two ice breakers in the front to keep the water open...didn't need them today..lol!!

Looks like they need more water.....
Heck of a blind set-up.... man could just live out there... run to town for groceries every so often.
Thanks for sharing BH!! I remember some days in the past with friends gathering to work on the blind and then hunt....
Seems as people get older and times change, it just isn't the same....
