Several years ago we had a one buck limit for I believe just one year. I was wondering what was the reasoning for this and what was said to change it back to 3 bucks the next year.

You would have to go back almost thirty years for a one buck limit.
When we went from the 11 buck limit it went to a 2 buck limit. that limit was in place for one season before it was changed to 3.
My memory is the change to 3 was made as a compromise from hunters that did not like the reduction in the buck bag limit.

I was at the commission meeting where it went to three and if I remember correctly it was to give hunters an opportunity to kill a buck in each of the three seasons. I believe there was also a stipulation that no more than 2 bucks could be killed with any one weapon type.
