Is he a chocolate or just light black? I don't see a lot of chocolate labs around much. when I move back in the country I will be getting a few labs to train.

he is black, has real good focus and appears to be real obedient, he's going to be a good dog if you stick with him

Yeah he is black, I am very excited about him just waiting on water to duck hunt. Very impressed at how far he has come. We started training at 7 weeks old and have missed very few days since. He is very obedient and full of energy. Was able to take him a short dove hunt in Sept. when it was hot and he made 20 retrieves or so for me and a couple buddies.
