Do bucks that have traveled to a new area go back ( home) or do the stick around in the new area? What's the best way to hunt post rut bucks ? Like bsk said in another post after the rut I have always been sol on the farms I hunt . Just winding what I might do to improve my odds this year .

In my opinion they eventually get back to their home core area. Actually i believe they go back to it every 4-5 days. After the rut food is a priority.Fill up for the winter.

As others write, food is great but I often key-in on a little different area of focus: REST. These dudes are plain'old tired. They've been running for weeks and weeks, shot at, stressed, and strained...they are flat wore out. I pick out of the way places that have been largely unpressured and sit alot during the middle of the day.
Sleep in, get your chores done, and try easing out there for a few hours during the day once it warms up. They move a good bit, know there are fewer guns/hunters in the woods, and are focused on rest (along with food).
