Had a buddy over the weekend hunting his usual tree stand in silver point, tn. He texted me and said he had seen a black cat about 120 pounds with a 3 to 4 foot tail on it. said he seen it within a hundred yards and was sure it was not a dog. any ideas what he could have seen?

if you capture a picture of a panther DO NOT post it because government agents will swarm your house and lock you in area 51 because of the cover up that is happening.... If by chance you do get the picture posted and they dont capture you it will just ruin Tndeer because no one will have anything to argue about.... well besides 1 buck limits

I'm going with black panter. As I understand it, TWRA stocked 20% black panthers when they started the cougar stocking program. A few are now starting to be reported by reliable persons.

Two were seen at Cheatham a week ago and one at Catoosa.

I love how these 2nd hand big cat sightings are always from people purported to be "Honest", "Trustworthy" "Avid Outdoorsmen", with "no reason to lie" or make things up etc.

Just once I want to hear "My drunk POS Uncle saw a black panther and shot the piss out of him, unloaded his magazine". He's been driving around for a week showing it off in the bed of his pickup. (followed by clear pictures and other supporting evidence)

No one ever shoots. If I see a black panther, a bigfoot, the Loche Ness monster, a Unicorn, Chubacabre, or a Leprechaun I promise you I am going to drag that sucker out of the woods.

Of the 250 cougars released, approximately 50 were black. Most of the cats were released from the Cumberland Plateau east but a few were set out in Cheatham and Hickman Counties.

You can get conmplete information by calling the TWRA headquarters and asking for Mike Hunt. He is in charge of the major predator program for all of TN. The program is designed to help hunters control the rapid expansion of deer and turkeys. The originators of the release schedule said they did not believe there would be enough human attacks to even worry about.

You don't have to shot a Bigfoot either. Keep some jack links with you. They love those, they won't hurt you. But just don't tease them with it. It can get ugly quick. BTW, it's true. I saw it on tv one time.

It should be easy for everyone to see, this project quickly went South and then was stopped because of various disease.
