Best blood trailing dogs I have seen were Daschunds...my dad and his buddies all had them from the same lineage.

I've never used a dog, but I have heard and read good things about dachshunds as well. This link may help you out.

Dachshund. Ive had 2 of them. Make good pets and dont eat much.Easy to train.
