140 at Chaney, Ames, PI or many other areas is quite common in west tennessee, not on a weekly basis though. 140 has "not" won the yearly big buck award at Chaney in a good while, unless the backwater is bad

Maybe I am a little high; just going on where I hunt and the ones I have put on the wall. It will depend on where you hunt, if you have hunters shooting anything that walks, you will not have a good herd of big rack bucks, but a person should be able to shoot what they want to, me I try to keep it around 125, no I don't score every year, but I see good bucks every year. There are some awfully great bucks in TN. though, don't kid yourself. I would not say way high, maybe 125, but not way high. Good huntin

Good huntin if the hunters are shooting anything that walks then you would have a poor age structure so you would have fewer 3.5 y/o deer, but how would that affect the average score of a 3.5 year old? Last I heard, killing deer doesn't affect the antler genetics much...

I'm not the TWRA, but from all my trail-camera data:
Big agriculture and/or river bottomlands, 115-120.
Ridge-and-hollow hardwoods, 105-110.
Think I would go with BSK numbers. Now if you asked what was the average score of a 3 1/2 that was "killed" then the score would be higher.

If he were to make it to 3.5 it probably would not effect him; but it is getting to that age, for instance, I hunt a 50 acre plot of ground all properties on front and each side of me, it is brown is down and fusing all the time that they cant take any big bucks but are not willing to let smaller bucks walk.

This year I have seen 3 bucks that were 3.5+ One would score 105 ish. Second one would score 115 ish and the 9pt I shot would score close to 110.
Prime managed property in Mid tn on Old Hickory. Lots of soybeans and corn, plus acorns and browse on the ridges.
Some years the racks average higher, some lower. Don't know why but this year the racks we are seeing trend smaller.
Last year I saw 4 3.5 bucks. One that had a huge body and might have been 4.5+ would be lucky to make high 100". The smallest bodied of the bunch (might have been an exceptional 2.5) had the biggest rack. 120-125" just out of range during the end of bow.
Average 3.5 on the mid TN properties I hunt will be around 110.
The old deer with crappy racks will fool you.
Cant age a deer by looking at the rack.
