We use a 1 1/4 ounce jig tipped with a minnow on the TN River. I know some people who do the same on the Cumberland.

I dont fish for em a lot and am learning the ropes but I have caught a few trolling a shad rap SR-7, but also with the same setup have caught a couple of walleye, drum, catfish, a big smallmouth, and snagged a buffalo.

Go at night. They come up very shallow, only a few feet from the edge of the water, at night. Fish below the dam and make sure there is some good current. I always use 1/2 to 1/8 oz crappie jigs with a 2" or 3" curly tail grub. I normaly use white cause it is the easiest for me to see at night with the lights from the dam. I cast out down stream and try the keep the bait about 3' to 4' from the edge of the water and try to bump the rocks but not get hung up. You will get hung up alot, so bring alot of jigs. The colder the night the better.

Live or plastic will work. I prefer live personally.

Do this only use a #11 Floating Rapala (silver with black or blue back). If you get hung up, just give it a little slack and it will float downstream and get free.
