When i was looking back in feb and march they had really good rates. You could finance up to 5yrs on one. Dont hold me to it but i believe it was 1yr/1.9%, 2yr/2.9% and 3yr/3.9%. And that was no money down. Ended up buying a pretty much new 09 rancher is the only reason i didnt buy new.

Go thru a credit union. Honda is 2.99 right now. I got 1.99 at our credit union.

Go for it chum. You won't regret buying a honda. In addition to my 4-wheeler we have 2 honda vehicles in the garage.

Chum, i financed through the local bank for a few months. The banks interest rate was alot higher but i bought this from an individual at a steal of a price so couldnt pass it up. It was either me buy new manual shift 4x4 rancher for 5200 plus tax or buy this 09 camo rancher automatic with independant suspension and only 18hrs and 150 miles for 3500. I couldnt pass it up

That is good that you are trying to follow the ramsey plan. You will be in a much better place if you continue to follow the plan. Financing is set up for broke people that "want" to buy something they do not need.

IMHO - borrowing money for an ATV is dumb, plain and simple.

If you can't buy it without financing it - you can't afford it. If you can't afford it, don't buy it.

I don't see the problem financing one if you want to especially when they run cheap financing rates. If you can make more money in an investment than what the apr is go for it. I bought my honda 300 new in 1999 and financed it for 2 or 3 years. Last year i bought an 07 Yamaha Rhino and paid cash. Either way make sure you have the funds to afford it. If its going to spread you too thin by all means don't buy it regardless of how you intend to pay for it.

I financed my Ranger through a credit union for less that 2%. My investments are making at least twice that most of the time even during the bad times. Not bragging just fact, I could of purchased my Ranger for cash but at the time of purchase it just made sence to leave my money where it was making more interest than what the credit union was lending money for.
On the other hand if the loan institutions were asking more interest than my investments were making I would certainly pay cash.

The main thing is to have your priorities in order, have a set budget,Then and only then if you have extra $$,, make as big of a down payment you can stand. make your payments on time, with some of that overtime you get, put some of it on a payment or two to get ahead of the game incase of emergency expenditures.

Excellent way to build up your credit numbers

Save and pay cash for it. A good credit score only means that you are good at borrowing money. Too many people have a "want it now " attitude instead of waiting until you have the money for it. The best time to buy one is right after deer season when a lot of people bought one and now the payments due and they can't afford it. That's what happened to all of the people who bought more house than they could afford.its also a fact that 0% financing is there because 80% of the people that take this deal don't pay it off in time and then are charged the back interest. Think the finance company would make this deal if they were gonna lose money?

You are absolutely right. But if you can pay it off in the specified timeframe it is free money as far as I am concerned with and I will hold on to my money as long as I can.

There are always deals. Wait until you are financially ready.

If you do pay it back that's good but they are counting on you to forget or get behind. Murphy's law seems to come around just before that last payments due. (Lost job , new baby , death in family.) the loan is not on your mind at this time until its too late. I told him to save for it because too many people want everything now and worry about paying for it later. That's why all the high dollar bows, guns, and campers are forsale right after deer season.
