I killed a nice 9 pointer opening day of rifle in the Riddleton area. He was with a hot doe. A close friend of mine killed a stud of an 8 in pleasant shade last Sunday chasing a doe.

I have a farm to hunt in that area. They were chasing a couple of weeks ago. Had 2 six pts chasing a doe. passed on the bucks, but did shoot a doe that morning. I generally don't see big bucks there, but it is a doe killing honey-hole!

I aint seen much rutting activity here. I hunt elmwood and lock 7. If you know where Turners gas station is, couple weeks ago I stood out in the parking lot with a couple other guys and watched a big 11 pointer laying down right across the road on that small hill at 2 in the afternoon. we guessed he had a bedded doe in there somewhere.

Rutting activity has been slow where I hunt but have killed two 8 Pts this year but lately it's been real slow with very few deer sightings

I hunt in defeated, hickman and edge of jackson. Been slow since around thanksgiving. Had a 5 pt breed a doe 2nd weekend of ml. Friend tagged out first week of ml, nice 11 low 140's, and 2 8's first week of ml. cruisin on cam heavy week before thanksgiving in pleasant shade. I believe it came a little early this year. Might pick up in a week or two. Usually have some yearlings come in end of dec.

Hoyt30 - I saw the same type of activity. A lot of scraping and daylight cruising the 2nd week of ML. It seemed to be really going opening weekend. Warm weather and post rut has really shut down my daylight buck sightings since then.

I saw 2 bucks this afternoon. both were 1.5 yr olds. 1 buck was a 4pt from what i could tell and his right main beam was hangin off the side of his head. Didnt seem to bother him. He came right to my grunt call. Made me wonder what did the damage. My buddy is gonna take him as his first buck if we see him in the mornin.
